于是我在美国杂志中,回顾了Beck的highs and lows,尽管这在我们关于他的记忆之中,不过是冰山一角 (中文翻译为某苏缩略型翻译,由于时间关系只翻了大意)

1982: Beckham is discovered while playing ball in a local park and recruited by the Ridgeway Rovers youth soccer team. (1982,Beck在Ridgeway Rovers青年队开始职业生涯)

1997: Beckham begins dating “Posh Spice” (née Victoria Adams) of the Spice Girls. The tabloids eagerly dub him “Spice Boy.” (1997,Beck开始与Victoria约会)

October 6, 2001: With England’s hopes of 2002 World Cup qualification at stake, Beckham sends a kick past Greece’s goalie during injury time, clinching England’s spot in the tourney. April 2004: News of the World reports that Beckham had an affair in 2003 with his personal assistant, Rebecca Loos (pictured at left). Beckham’s handlers call the claim “ludicrous” and “unsubstantiated”; Loos becomes a C-list celebrity in the U.K. (2004年,Beck被暴与其西班牙女助理Rebecca有染)

June 25, 2006: Beckham becomes the first Englishman to score in three World Cup tournaments. A week later, after England is eliminated, he tearfully steps down as captain of the English National Team team after a nearly six-year run. (In August, he is dropped from the squad entirely.)
