In and amongst the frustration from the Rossoneri supporters, there were a number of acts of vandalism and violence in the stands and streets during and after the Coppa Italia.
Pictures on social media went viral after Rossoneri supporters tagged and vandalised the seats in the Curva Sud of the Stadio Olimpico, where the most vocal Roma supporters usually sit during their home matches.
There was also damage to the toilets and ‘health facilities’ at the Stadio Olimpico, as well as a number of clashes between supporters in the streets after full-time.
However, it is largely the Milan supporters who have been punished. As a result of the scenes on Wednesday night, the away section of the Stadio Olimpico will be closed for the Serie A match between Roma and Milan on Sunday, while home tickets will be restricted to those who reside in the local Lazio area.
