According to the Corriere dello Sport, France national side boss Raymond Domenech has decided to hand Roma trequartista Jeremy Menez his first international call-up.
Roma have been notified that the 21-year-old is in les Bleus' provisional squad, along with central defender Philippe Mexes, for the friendly game with Argentina on January 11.
Menez moved to the Italian capital from Ligue 1 club Monaco last summer, but struggled to make an impact during the first months of the campaign, fuelling speculation he could depart during the January transfer window.
However, he reversed his fortunes with a great goal at Chievo Verona at the beginning of December and his superb performances of late have now apparently persuaded Domenech to give him a chance at senior level.
It remains to be seen whether Menez will be able to answer the call as he is struggling with a groin injury and was forced to play with a special band aid in Reggio Calabria last weekend.

报道说,俱乐部已收到了法国方面的通知,大小梅将征兆入队参加对11号对阵阿根廷的比赛。唯一的疑问是梅内斯最近的腹股沟伤势可能导致他不得不放弃多梅内克的召唤。 |
