Perrotta has Azzurri dream
Simone Perrotta’s stunning performances for Roma make him a World Cup candidate, while Luciano Spalletti praises his “perfect” team.
“This was a great game for the Giallorossi and for me,” confessed the midfielder after the 3-0 drubbing of Parma at the Stadio Tardini. “Will I be a first-team regular for Italy? I certainly hope so.”
Former Chievo midfielder Perrotta scored the last goal with a delightful lob after Amantino Mancini’s brace.
“The home side did well in the first half and would crowd whoever had the ball, but after we broke the deadlock there was more room for manoeuvre.”
This was their seventh consecutive Serie A victory, matching the club record set by Fabio Capello’s men in both 2000-01 and 2003-04.
“Right now, this team has everything. They’re perfect,” added Coach Spalletti. “Your mentality becomes the key, as when you get results that tiredness seems to dissipate much quicker."
"We struggled a little in the first half and needed those flashes of individual brilliance to break down their defence. Francesco Totti was fantastic, Mancini merciless and Perrotta unbeatable.”
