大德很可能在本周末的比赛中首发 Marco Delvecchio feels he can finally return to his attacking role this evening against Empoli, as Domenico Morfeo’s injury leaves Parma with a striker shortage. “Everyone says I did my best work as a centre-forward and effectively I scored 30 goals in a season and a half,” noted the former Roma and Brescia star. “I prefer going long rather than merely holding up the ball, so I put myself forward for this role at Parma.” The Italian international was reinvented as a wide midfielder during his Roma days and has maintained that position over the last few injury-ravaged terms, but it’s not something that pleases him. “I want to be a protagonist this year and there hasn’t been nearly enough talk of my presence,” he told the official club website. “I came here to play first team football, not to watch the others get on with it. I am fully recovered and want to prove it.” Delvecchio’s introduction against Empoli this evening could be timely, as so far Parma have scored just one goal in two games and have lost Domenico Morfeo to injury. “Having a player like Bernardo Corradi upfront makes it easy for him to hold up the ball, but he hasn’t had much support. I have different characteristics to Corradi and could be a good partner for him. We have already faced Empoli in the Coppa Italia and they are a very organised side, but we must attack them, as if we don’t get three points at home to a newly promoted side then I don’t know where we will pick results up.”(CHANNEL4) |
