Many were wondering - and even making fun of - where the Roma captain and his wife had found the name for their newborn, something which was finally revealed last night.
Chanel Totti was born early on Sunday morning amidst the curiosity of fans and journalists who were asking themselves what inspired Francesco and his wife, Italian television personality Ilary Blasi, to choose that name.
Originally, the Roma captain declared that it was Christian (the couple's first born) who chose that name, but last night Ilary revealed the true reason apart from describing how Chanel looked like for the first time.
"She's all dark and full of hair. It doesn't seem to remind anyone of us, even though someone is saying that she resembles me.
"Francesco was next to me, this time. He was very good, he did extremely well. When he took the baby in his arms, he was very excited. He's sensing that for Chanel he will lose his head just like all the dads do for the daughters."
Ilary gave the explanation to the name.
"I wanted a sweet name, with a delicate sound: I also had in mind Jolie, but I like Chanel more. I think it's very beautiful."
