As he puts the final touches to his free transfer move to Internazionale, Olivier Dacourt has targeted immediate success with The Nerazzurri.
The former Leeds and Everton midfielder announced he would be switching to Inter back in May, and is now tying up all loose ends before being unveiled as Roberto Mancini's latest signing.
Dacourt was part of the Roma side that lost in the Coppa Italia final to his new employers, and the French midfielder is hoping to hit the trophy trail as he begins his career at Giuseppe Meazza.
"My dream? Winning the league the first year and Champions League in the second one," Dacourt told Corriere dello Sport.
"Inter are a great side, we must aim to these targets, then the team is really strong."
The Nerazzurri's chances of glory, domestically at least, could be dramatically increased if Milan, Juventus, Fiorentina and Lazio are all relegated due to the match fixing trial currently being held in Italy.
The demotion of four of Serie A's biggest sides would leave a huge power vacuum that Massimo Moratti's side would hope to fill, and Dacourt cannot wait to get started in the perennial pursuit of glory at Inter where major trophies are at a premium.
"Why Inter? Because winning with this side will have a special taste, most beautiful and intense in comparison to the one you feel in other clubs where there is the habit to win," Dacourt added.
"I've decided to quit Roma after the Coppa Italia final.
